I have just replaced my 1993 W250 and I wanted to share something I ran into.
My steering gearbox mounts onto a bracket that bolts onto the frame. Three bolts, tire off should be no problem!
Two bolts (top and front) are a little tricky; 1. Top needed wobble socket. 2. Front needed off-set box end. The third bolt was straight in, long extension, should there be no problem? Spun the end off of the the extension! OK, use Impact grade, Then I spun the breaker bar 1/2" toggle off! Go get the 3/4" gear, 4' cheater, and finally got it!
Long story short, that bolt was splined!! Was, now the splines are spun off! Why would they do that to me?
Hope someone sees this and removes the nuts inside the frame instead of two-plus hours for one bolt!
