A buddy has a new 22 3500 Bighorn SO, 68rfe.
He was told (by another buddy with a 2017) that 15-40 oil was ok for his truck.
20 miles after changing it, the truck starting making a clacking noise.
I haven’t heard it but they now seem to think it’s in the lower part of the motor or maybe transmission.
He has changed the oil 3 times with the proper oil, but it’s still making noise.
I can’t think of any damage only driving 20 miles.
Is it possible to cause engine damage not using the proper oil or likely coincidence with another problem?
