16cm housing &turnups

More questions , can you put a 16 on without turning up the pump or adding exhaust system? Next when you turn one up can you just tur part of it up like just the wheel or do you have to do all. last Hx35 can it be installed without turning one up and exhaust. thanks

you can just install the 16cm housing and you can also just turn one thing up if you want, everyone does them all trying to get the most out of the engine, but if you just want to install a new housing and just adjust the starwheel that is fine, it wont hurt a thing. someone correct me if im wrong :-{}

My first mod was adding k & N filter and second was adding a 16 cm housing.

Those were pretty good improvements. An excellent conservative beginning.....

But you will be bitten by the BOMBing bug for sure.....

Take it from one who knows ... .

The 16cm exhaust housing does not require any changes to be made to the exhaust system nor does it require that you make any adjustments to your injector pump.



The adjustments to the injector pump do not necessarily have to be made in combination with each other. You can back off the starwheel a bit to get some more low end fuel if you like. However, most of us usually like to make a few adjustments to tune things where we like them.



As far as the HX35 is concerned, there are a few variables here. If you have a non-intercooled truck, it will require some modifications to the intake system to get it to fit. It is a direct bolt on for the intercooled trucks. The HX35 will fit 12cm, 14cm, 16cm, 18. 5cm and 21cm housings. You can change just the center section / compressor assembly and use your existing exhaust housing or change the entire turbo. No modifications to the exhaust system or injector pump are required. (Except if you go with a wastegated exhaust housing, then the downpipe will have to be shortened a bit)

The 16 is a direct drop in replacement for the stock 18/21. I have never forked over the $$ for a 16, but have run a 12 on a stock H1C, and a 18 on a PDR HX35. Got the head gasket back on, and the ACF hooked up; 28 psi on flat; ought to be good for 30-32 if I can find a steep enough hill to put a good load on it. Fixing to get a 12 on the PDR HX35.

JLeonard, the housing is working great. turned the pump about 1/4 turn, and getting almost 20 mpg- up from 17-18.
