If you lessen the tension on the AFC spring, by turning the adj. wheel toward the engine, you get fuel faster at low boost times, such as when taking off from a stop. The potential down side (for some at least), is more smoke, but more fuel faster = more boost sooner.
The adjustment wheel is located under a large plastic allen plug at the back of the pump, on top.
You can slide the cam plate a small amout toward the engine to help get more fuel as well, but since your truck has to work at times, just gotta watch the EGT gauge a little more if you do this.
You've got lots of tuning, tweaking opportunties to set things up to best suit your needs. Just do a few searchs and get comfortable for a little reading.
