Go Adam! I can hear it now:
rrrrrRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr. . .
Another dyno roller flexed to the max by a mighty 12 valve

Congrats on the kilopost, Scotty! Nice graphics--don't let the postpolitzei catch you exceeding the standards of mediocrity with your animated smileys! Glad to have you visit the properly valved forum to reach your kilostatus! #ad
If you get a bit bored with GW, check with Mark (TST) on the PM3. He told me the Edge#3 was close to PM2, and PM3 is a lot more, and keeps adding fuel at higher rpm. #ad
Can't have you falling asleep at the wheel #ad

Meanwhile, Adam is staying awake with the new plate and 370s, but to make sure, I hear Piers has a plan to sprinkle some Canadian magic dust on your P7100. HUMILIATE THOSE PSD'S AT TULARE. We will be watching!

Adam:

I'd love to do the dyno with you guys. I work in Burlingame, so if my geography is right, I'm not too far away. When it is? I'm going to be gone to Coloado from Aug 9th to Sep 5th so if it falls in there, I'll have to wait until next time.

I'd definitely like to see where I am now before I do anymore mods.

I'm not sure how to check the overflow valve, so I'll have to look it up in my Haynes manual if it's in there. I'm going to try to adjust the idle this weekend when I attempt to do the exhaust valvespring change.

Thanks!

Rob

Adam, how much "magic dust" do you want sprinkled??? #ad
I'll send down enough HD valve springs for all 12 mighty valves #ad
& a valet parking switch to help fend off the smog police. But in the full blown area what kind of fueling & rpm level do you want?

HEY pIERS---blasted caps lock button!! is Canadian magic dust ground-up dilithium crystals? the 25th century Scotty was(will be) always pi$$ing and moaning about a shortage to the dashing Capt. JTKirk, and it turns out it's all your fault back here in the 21st!!! Give Adam enough to make a ship's engineer holler out the familiar warning :"She canna tek ennymoore, Cupten!"

Piers, you do whatever you want, I'll just keep fixing things,LOL
mmmmmmmmmmm magic dust taste good captain.
I can't wait.
I am considering the 16 housing for speedier takeoffs.

Who did the headwork, and roughly how long did it take? TIA,

14 cm2 housing: this is a residual from a former high-dollar uprate package. It will be replaced with the Superturbo when the owner has funds. (Donations accepted).

fuel lines: the fuel lines are stock on my Ram. Even the return line--still going to the fuel filter and heating up the fuel. That is ALL fuel lines, low and high pressure. Of course when the head was off, I took advantage of the improved accessibility to replace the fuel return hose.

air system: Other than the Superturbo, all my intake air system is stock-- filter box, filter, 3" lines and intercooler. I did remove the collar from between the fender and the air box.

Some of it!
Blair, anyone can do good work with the right tools! It's more fun to do precision work with a slag grinder #ad

[for those not in on the joke, Blair is referring to a part I made with a slag grinder and got it within 0. 002" of where I wanted it. ]

TO: Joe Donnelly

I have been reading with interest your answers to this post the last couple of weeks. I presently have a 96 Ram with an automatic and 3. 54 gears along with a TST #5 cam plate which Mark Chapple and his son-in law just recently put in for me up in Indiana. The original horespower was 180 with 420 torque. I previously had the #6 TST cam plate. My truck now has 101,000 miles on it and I also just had installed a new "Pro-Torque" Torque Converter and complete "BD Valve Body. " This torque converter has a stall speed of 1600. I noticed that the truck now has a slight "flat spot" just off idle and my question to you is this: Will the installation of 215 injectors help this at all? I have read from some of the other members here and in the TDR that these injectors help the low end alot. I was also told that a "BD Pressure Loc" would help. I highly respect your opinion and expertise and commend you for all that you do for members of the TDR! Your response to this would be greatly appreciated!

John,

I can help you with this question. I have a 94 that has the "flat spot/stumble" off idle to about 1100/1200 rpms.

I Have had the timing advanced, added 215HP Bosch injectors and a strong torque plate.

Flat spot is still there. No worse than when engine was stock, but no better either.

I was talking to Ted Jannety about this problem once. He said his Bosch pump rebuilder has seen this hundreds of times. He can make it better thru calibration on the test stand, but has not been able to eliminate it completely.

It seems (w/a 5 speed truck) you really don`t notice the flat spot, nor does it effect the way the truck accelerates. It is most audible in neutral, with light throttle pressure.

Joe can add more I`m sure. #ad

HEMI:
Thank you for your response on my question. I
am planning a trip to Terre Haute, Indiana in September to attend the "Scheid Diesel" Rally there. While at this rally I am going to have them put the P7100 pump on their calibration unit in an attempt to help the problem some. By way of your response it sounds as though the 215 injectors won't help
much. Again, thanks for the input!
