I have been a lurker on the TDR for over a year. Last week I bought a New 2003 HO/6 speed and figured its long past time to subscribe.
My current 2 year project is total restoration/reconstruction of a 1943 Dodge Carryall. The Carryall was destined for the dump, from the front A Posts to the Rear Tail Gate welds, everything was rusted away. You could rack the body side to side with 2 fingers. Over Last winter, I built all new inner and outter body panels by hand. Everything had to be fabricated. The rear Tail gate type doors were to far gone to do anything with. I bought 1947 Dodge Panel Doors and modified them to fit. The Body was then painted BC/CC Harley Davidson Orange and Satin Black.
I bought a 1999 Cummins Recon 4BTA, and mated it to a 1999 Dodge NV-4500 and a 1993 Dodge NP-205 T case. Differentials were changed to 4. 89's, Saginaw Power Steering and 4 wheel Disk brakes were added. A Braden MU-2 Winch will be mounted on the front, either drive shaft powered or hydraulic power. As of today, the Carryall is all wired and tested on a current limited power supply. Run brake lines and complete the interior.
Its scheduled to roll out in the spring and go to the National Power Wagon Rally in Fairfield, Iowa in June.
If anyone knows where I can obtain the 1999 Dodge Hydraulic
line/hose (Clutch Slave Cylinder to Clutch master cylinder, please email me. Dodge will only sell the complete assembly slave/master/hose Ha!
