The fuel sylinoid if you want for testing can be removed or as suggested try the jumper wire from the batt to the pump , if you remove it there is a manual shut off on the pump and if your worried that lever wont work pull the intake hose off going to the turbo and have a 2x6 handy to cut the air supply off to kill it , Also which brings up anouther question have you pulled a part the air cleaner to make sure it is not full of crap ???

The air filter is fine, I have the turbo exposed and a went a head and ordered a new fuel solenoid just in case (it was only $20 plus I got a free Cummins decal, can't really turn that down) Is there a special way to get the solenoid off? Its a pain in the *** to get a wrench on it

Yes that is a SOB to do unless you want to buy a special socket or wrench off a tool truck is to go down to harbor freight and buy a wrench that fits that is super thin ,maybe even if you have to grind on it and heat up my dad maid one with a old i think its a 13/16" but don't bet on it ,or maybe a small chisel and tap it loose

I know its been a while since I've posted here, but I got the truck running (installed a new FSS, FASS fuel system and stage 2 injectors) but now it has a horrible knocking noise and I cant figure out what it is. I haven't ran it long maybe a grand total of 5 minutes in fear I might do more damage. I have attached a video of it knocking, the squeaking is the turbo its lose and I need to replace it but first things first is the knocking issue. What do you guys think it could be?

It also lessens when we crack and injector but still knocks.

My truck sounded like that once, it turned out to be a wrist pin bushing that got burnt out. new rod and piston made it good as new. sorry to say that the easiest way to verify it is to drop the oil pan which really isnt hard but dose take a fair amount of time.

Attach your intake hose from the filter to the turbo and see if the sound is less. It sounds like an exhaust valve is not opening and is exhausting out the intake when it opens. If the hose helps then pull the valve covers and see what is going on. It definitely has a miss.
