Guages = pyro,boost,trans temp

Need recommendation for best transmission for towing 11k through smokies .

Are looking to just buy one and swap it in or drop for a rebuild? Have you checked locally for any builders.

Ther 518\618 is basically just a 727 with an OD unit on it so it is fairly easy to build. A lockup TC will put the power on the ground a lot better but the engine will need to be tuned correctly and you may have to change gears if the load exceeds the capabilities. It would be a manual switch as there is no in expensive controller option.

Fire Punk up by Columbus OH might be a place to start a conversation about what you want and want to spend. They could build you a trans that includes a controller for the lockup and OD shifting so it would be seamless.
