Im doing a cab swap on 1994 1500 auto 2wd gasser( good cab) to 1994 2500 4x4 5 speed diesel( bad cab good frame). Both are single cabs, just wondering if anyone had any helpful tips. I got the bad cab almost stripped and getting ready to pull the good dash. Whats the best way to lift the cab? I got a john deere 310d i figured i would just throw a strap threw the cab and lift it with the back hoe.

When I did my 96' (roll over) I just rolled the old cab off to one side and rolled the new one on from the side, but I was working by my self and had lots of padding on the ground.

If You Can Access A Lift With The Four Arms That Go Under The Car That Is The Way To Go Cause All You Do Is Lift The Good Cab Up And Roll The Frame Out From Under It Then Roll The Good Frame Under The Good Cab Then Just Set It Down On It.

Be careful with the strap through the cab method. I did that on a reg. cab Ford and it put a crease in the sheet metal on the top of the cab. It was an oil can forever after. I prefer the two post lift method if possible.
