Hi, Right now the fog lights come on as soon as parking lights are turned on Position 1, Am I able to separate them so i can control when they come on? I believe they are factory set up.

Thanks

Not sure how it is supposed to be with your truck, but on the 2002 truck (mine), there are two different headlight switches available - one for operating fog lights and the other without fog lights. The switch for operating fog lights has a pull function for the fog lights.

I posted the wrong photo, but the same idea. Thanks for pointing it out.

Here's the right photo for truck in my signature. Not sure if it is right for a '98.5.

The fog lights can be on if the parking and/or low beams are on. The fog lights are off if the high beams are on. I would check the fog light relay. It might be stuck on.

Road Dog, that's how mine are on with parking and low off with High. I would like to put them on a separate switch I don't always want them on with parking. A factory switch would be best.

Does your headlight switch look like the one in my second photo? If so, that is your answer. If not, then you will have to wire a separate switch.

The 1998-1998.5 switch is a one year only special. I posted a reply on the other forum, but I did a quick check on eBay and there is a listing for the combo airbag/fog light switch, the seller mistakenly states it is correct for 1998-2002 but it is a 1998 only switch (search- "1998 dodge ram airbag switch") the connector for the factory fog light has 4-5 wires and is generally complicated as Dodge wired them so when high beams came on lights deactivated. you can use the factory switch with fewer wires and run them off relays powered directly from a fused power supply from under the hood. Search the forums for 2nd Gen Ram melted headlight harness for ideas on how to run relays.

Wiring isn't really my thing, would I get something like this and plug it into the fog light/airbag combo switch?
