So previous owner wired up fog lights but I want to set them up factory, I have a new Air Bag / Fog light combo switch. I believe i found the connector by the center of bottom of radiator , I need the jumper that connects from there to each fog light. I have not taken the dash bezel off yet but I do think the factory switch wiring will be there. I have found jumpers from all other years but just not 2nd Gen. Any help with this would be great.

I have a complete after market harness that I tried on my bench and was able to make it work with the factory switch I bought but I don't want to rig anything. My truck has the pull head light switch.

Thanks

@Joey.G, If your harness works out to front, worst case, you could make the short run to lights. Is there a fuse and or relay spot in truck or is it built into the switch? If in the switch, I'd want a relay to help keep the load off the switch. Very easy to do and you can use harness out to front as trigger and put relay there. I can help you with that if needed. Good luck.

I have these 2 Harnesses and connectors ( link at end of post ).
So these have relays and fuses, SO I could get these to factory switch and make them work as I did it on the bench with a battery and led fog light. I just don't know if this is safe, I am not sure what wires are supposed to do what on the switch. I did get the lights to light and the switch it self to glow when it is on, Not sure if there is a orange light on the switch as well as there seems to be a little indent in switch where it would be.

I do believe if i can find jumper from the Radiator connector to the fog lights everything should work as well, I am pretty sure Ill find factory switch wiring behind the dash. I am not good with wiring and get confused very easily. I am assuming if factory wiring is there then relays would be as well.

Like I said, if you find harness behind switch and it give you power out a radiator, the rest is easy. I can help walk you step by step. Not afraid of wiring. You should see all the things that I've got run on my truck! You could provide pics of connectors if the switch works to front. If we were close, I'd bring my stuff over and walk you through it. Teach you how to do it so that you'll gain confidence to do things on your own!

Okay I'll post back once I get to it, would I have to cut harness up front or would I use some sort of connector? I see they offer this jumper for all other years.

All depends. Once you get started, Get a picture of the front connector and I'll see if I can find one that would fit, that way you're only making your own jumper and not cutting factory harness. Might even be able to insert connectors into to make work. We'll get it figured out without hacking it all up! I don't like having to do that if at all possible. I'll make my own harnesses with they're own connectors and then tie into factory harness. I know you'd like a nice clean, secure and weatherproof setup. That's what I'm going to help you with.

These are the only pictures I have at the moment. There are three wires. I really appreciate you trying to help.

I'll start digging around on a couple of site that have connectors, and see what I can find. Glad to lend a hand!

From what I'm seeing, the harness is like a Unicorn! I've been digging through some sites with connectors that seal and am unable to find a mate to the connector at base of radiator.

Now if you can confirm that the connector goes back to switch, I'd change out to something and make your own jumper harness. Worst case is to use switch with one of the harnesses that you have. As long as you route it neatly, no big deal.
I've made many a wire harness and have the supplies and tools to make. A set of crimpers with dies makes a big difference. I use the expandable braid to wrap the wires in or you could use the fabric tape to make look like an OEM harness. Heat shrink and hot melt glue sticks round out the supplies short of connectors and wire. I've found that after a splice is made, coat with hot melt and before cooling completely, slide heat shrink over and seal. This makes them weatherproof and can use any heat shrink size and length needed. Have sealed an LED that is immersed in water without issue.

Can get you links to tools if needed. Got most off EBAY to save and don't use in shop type use.

I've added lights, radios, dash cam and heated seat to my 3500. Hardest thing was cutting hole in the roof for an antenna!

I appreciate you trying yes I can run the wire kit I bought and either use the switch it came with or I can splice into factory switch. Out there somewhere sitting In a scrap yard is the small harness I need.

you right, just trying to find the right yard! I looked today when I went by a place near me, they didn't have anything of that era, but they do have some things of interest to me! Gotta raid the piggy bank! I'd use the factory switch if you can, just gives it a cleaner install. Let me know if you need any other help with wiring. https://www.the12volt.com/ is a great site for wiring info and help.

Topside is on the job...I second keeping the factory switch, using a relay if needed, etc. (the relays, solenoids and wiring added to my truck is >100 pounds, ugh). The connector in the image looks grungy to me, not likely to make a good connection, so if you want to keep the "disconnectable" function I'd just get a generic 3-wire M/F plug (maybe a weatherpak), replace the existing plug and run new wires to the fogs.

I didn't clean the plug yet but I think it would clean up fine, but I'll change it if need be.the new wiring harness has a red, black and white to the switch it came with, the factory switch has 5 wires. I was able to get the lights on and the switch to light up on the bench using 4 out of the five wires.

@Joey.G, That's great to hear. If the harness goes from switch to front end, just make sure you clean that connector good! I'll be heading back to bone yard to get a horn assy and the plugs for a project. Want to make a jumper to activate another horn circuit without cutting and splicing harness. Hope you find the harness behind switch! :)

The harness I got goes from that plug to fog lights, the one that I hope is behind dash I am not sure where that would go. I probably need to look for relays as well, just not sure where to look. I'll definitely clean everything.

The Thing that got me using the factory Switch is that it is switching on the NEGITIVE / GROUND not the positive. The positive wire is hot 100% of the time and the factory switch connects the ground. I was able to correct this by having the factory switch activate the my relay and that connected the positive to the fog lamps. I ran a wire through the firewall and up to the factory switch, made my own harness. mounted the relay up by the headlights and used the ground screw in the front drives side wheelwell.
