21 here, bought the truck when I was 18. Bone stock at the time and a bare 64k highway miles. Now its a little different, alot more fun to drive and has 107k mi and a few battle scars.

Just finished putting a Bradford Built flatbed on it this week. Looks a little better without that jeep shaped dent in the bed. Now if I could just do something about the rust on the door...

Long past the first time that I caught myself saying, "When I was your age... . "

Stopped holding cans 3 inches from my face to read the label in the store. Got them double lense glasses 2 years ago.

Still automatically think of Ann Margret, Sophia Loren and Raquel Welch when I hear the term "sex symbol. "

Get p*ssed off whenever I see an Antique Plate on a 60's or 70's muscle car.

Still holding onto all my 8 Tracks because they ARE coming back!!

My parents bought a '75 crew cab longbed brand new. Mom still uses it as a daily driver. Always loved the body style. Got my '93 when I was 26 and I just turned 30. The best 3 1/2 years and 70,000 miles. The dealer sent me one of those truck buy back deals. Trade-in plus $6000 cash back on a brand new one. Not a frickin' chance. They couldn't pry my fingers from my first gen steering wheel. Who needs airbags when you'll run over any Ford or Chevy on the road.

Timeless...

50 here, and still having fun :D It's great to see the obsession- (1. the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc. ) for these trucks across a wide range of ages! Oo.

Patrick. "Oh, not wiser, just more vocabulary. "

Physically depends on the day, mentally I refuse to age past 16. I just like the style of the first gens better, plus the engine isn't controller by a dang computer. I'll be 37 in May.

I realize the Pastor and JLEONARD are on the opposite end of the scale from say, me and CB Parker

Dang kids eh pastor?

I'm a 51. 5 model year so that makes me 52:D

I may grow old but I refuse to grow up.

Yup, I know how old you are; or at least where you're holding;) SInce you haev a 93 body, I guess I'll let you in as a "first gen owner. "

OH I almost forgot. I turned 25 a few weeks ago. Got my first CTD Ram at 20; sold it to Mom a year later. On #6 now. I seem to sell them for $1000-1500 more than I paid for them. GOt tired of the payment thing REAL quick, though.

This has been an interesting thread, no doubt.

Didn't realize I was among-st such wise old, eh,'er experienced persons.

I like the 1st gens 'cause they are the units on the road when I gadgiated from high school and a buddy in College has a D350 with the muffler AWOL.

Lots of room in the engine compartment.

Simple components

Everything is pretty much straight forward.

OK, then, would you believe it's what the wife said I could afford?:-{}

Will be 34 in April

OK, I grew up watching "Gusnsmoke" and we still walked to school(uphill both ways)!

I had a 99 QC that went with my ex. I got my 93 because at the time the price was right and I liked that looks of it. After having owned both, I have to say that I like my '93 the best!! Need to modify for a little more seating inside, but otherwise it's a keeper.

21 in a few weeks. Lovin my 1stgen over my dad's 97. He won't even race me when I got the trailer on. lol. Right now the 727 starts smoking everytime you drive it, hoping it'll hold till school is out. This truck has treated me better than any other truck I've owned and I'm still hard on it! Only left on the side of road once and that was a broken return line about 9 hours from home. And the girls always seem to like it! alonzo

Hehehe. This is a good post.

I bought my '91 first gen back in '99 (i think it was 99, or was it 2000? I can't do math) and it had 154,000 on it. Got it a new paint job, put some small silver stripes down the side that flows into "CUMMINS DIESEL" toward the end of the bed, and put a bed liner it in. I was 17. Everything was perfect. Now, I'm 21, and there are nicks in the paint, some are of the bigger small ones (yeah, I know) are actually starting to rust. The paint is starting to develope dull spots and the bed liner is coming up and the engine is starting to have some noticable wear, but I just need to replace some gaskets and up grade some stuff. It has 215,000 miles on it now, and I'm 21 and engaged, and school is getting harder by the day. Didn't even have a gf back then. It's amazing how fast time flies. It feels like just yesterday when I bought my Beast. I love that truck. It's my pride and joy, and I ain't lettin go of it till she blows (or until I find one thats in better shape for a good price ;) ) I need to start enjoying my youth more than I do before it's too late. Everytime I hop in my truck and fire it up, I'm just in awe of what Rudolph D. and Clessie C. did with their ideas. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have what we have now. I'm sorry this post is so long, I just started typing and things started coming out. K, gonna go now!

I'm 27... . And I love my 93... . I dont think there was life before I owned my 1st Gen... . I'll be driving her till the wheels fall off.

I'm 23 here.....

I looked and looked for a 02 HO 6 speed but I couldnt find one for under 30k.

One day in the paper we saw the "Green Monster" 92 CTD w/ 170k on it all highway miles. Guy used it to haul his horse trailer back to Montana filled with mules.

We liked that one so much that we started looking for another one and found a Silver 93. My wife liked that one off the battt as it has a topper on it and shiny wheels.

I figured if my trucks make it 2 years they paid for themselves as a new one is 4500 per year.

Hey guys I need your help... ... seriously.

I can't seem to find the "age" thread I heard about. Can someone give me the link to it?:-laf :-laf :-laf

Pastor Daniel? :D Naw... Pastor Bob has a nice ring to it for now.

:D

This is a funny thread... nice that we don't have to (read can't) think to reply to it.

I'm 34.

Never thought I'd own a diesel - the bus exhaust used to make me sick as a kid. Then I got a sailboat with a Yanmar diesel in it and I just loved the way it sounded (except for the magnitude... ) and how it just sipped the fuel.

Just had to have a diesel truck.

Researched a bit on which is best, and it was no contest - Cummins.
