I'm not sure what you refer to as Geno's... . you mean the Eaton K1444 filter kit? Then yes. The little guaze media filter that used centrifugal force to feed the filter off the PTO plate..... they catch a lot of small pieces, like the brass off the synchros that a magnet won't...
I've looked at other transmission filter setups, even using a pto driven hydraulic pump to run it through a filter..... I've been gonna try to see how much pressure the centrifugal force would generate. I'd love to have a cooler out off the side of the transmission, with a filtered return... ... .
The Eaton hydraulic pump would generate a LOT of pressure, and would pump all your oil out in a few seconds if you lost a line. And it would have to have a pickup built into the PTO plate, and then a return where? The other plate? And then, would it have to be directed with a nozzle of some sort to keep it from washing out a bearing or splashing up to the top of the case and leaking out the vent? Or could you use a pressure regulator, lower the pressure and keep it from flowing so much? I know I'm not the only one to want to do this. The bigger Eaton trannies have pumps built in, like on my Versatile's, and they only run 20-40lbs, but feed the huge bearing setups front and rear through the case, externally. Damn. Now you got my mind going again, Bschwarzli!!! I don't have time for that!!
