So gentlemen where would I be able to purchase a big, boofer, Walbro pump? Do you need to use a relay to power it? Seems I have read you do. Same question for a regulator. I need to do something for my low-side fuel pressure and would rather use a liqued cooled pump than an air cooled model. Also what model of Racor 2-micron is advised?

I may be able to help you out with the pump and relay set-up in kit form if you don't want to piece something together.

hi so can i still run my old fuel filter set up and just put in a better fuel filter ? who make a 2 micron fuel filter for a stock housing for a 2004. 5 325/600 ?

OK So you guys got this lift pump mods about figgered out. How many of you have fixed the elbows mounted on top of your fuel tanks that are wide open to take water and crud right into your tanks?????????????

What Are You Taking About ? I Bought A Fass 150 Pump , I Haven T Got It Yet But I Was Looking At The Direction Online And It Showed Some Elbow Fittings And A Small Inline Fuel Filter , Don T Know Much About It Yet Becauase I M Waiting For The Pump To Get Here

Has nothing to do with aftermarket pumps. The elbows are mounted on top of your fuel tank ,right from the factory. They set in a concave ,on tank top . if water fills the concave it submerges the elbow. letting water and crud right into tank. This elbow has a check valve in it . Put a 2 foot 1/4 line on it and you can blow right into your tank but you cant suck out . So fuel wont run out when you fill tank.

How does this all fit the thread here? You guys are killing your lift pumps with dirt getting into tank via elbow.

Old problem, several years old, Some older trucks had 2 exposed elbows. one front one rear of tank. I just bought a 06 3500. I looked at my tank and sure as heck there she was ,big as day on rear of tank, in the concave with the open end exposed. I put 2 foot of 1/4 in fuel line on elbow with inline fuel filter on end . I blowed right into my tank but couldn't suck out on it. This is on my new 06. Everybody is changing lift pumps but no one seams too concerned about these elbows getting crud in there tanks.

See theres no comments about these elbows on your tanks. There on all the diesels. And are letting in crud into your fuel. Its my opinion the crud is ruining the lift pumps. You need a mirror and a flashlite to see on top of fuel tank. Take a look.

This has been thoroughly discussed on old threads... . good for the newbies though

Do a search of the TDR; there has been discussion of this problem during the past two years.

Here is the solution that I went with. Hoses from the elbows to a tee and then ending with a Fram fuel filter. Other guys have done something similar, or at least added an extension hose to the elbows to prevent water and dirt from being sucked into the tank.

Could you post the fleetguard part numbers for these two items? I wanted to check dimensions and specifications so I can look into doing something similar.

Thanks
