Just an FYI, using the vent tube doesn't work so well on the 3rd gen trucks... check valve in the vent tube causes issues. I found this out when I hooked in my auxiliary tank.

I live in Minnesota will your your truck start and run and drive below 32 or 0 or -30 with out a heater on the 2 micron filter . I would like to add a 2 micron filter to my truck if it will start and run and drive good in the cold and if water gets past the stock filter will the 2 micron filter stop the water.

My experience is that the stock pump will not adequately push fuel thru the stock filter and a 2mic filter. I also used the Stanadyne unit, but I went with the FM1000. (But Donaldson in the only maker of a 2 mic filter for it. ) I originally had Richard's Walbro pump, but now have a Raptor 150. I also moved the draw straw from the top of the tank to the canister of my wife's liberty to stop the 1/4 tank problem (truck canister is in the jeep now pumping fuel thru a Stanadyne FM100) .
