Re: Re: 20"s on a 2500
my truck is used as my daily driver. i don't tow anything really heavy [max like 5-6000lbs] i don't haul a camper in the bed. i like diesel engines. i like driving diesel engines. i don't ever really want to own a gasoline powered vehicle unless it is some sort of sports car [i like them subaru wrx sti's though] i had 20" rims on that red 1500 i had. they looked just right under it. now some of you want to go 19. 5's. ok fine, you are doing the same thing as people that go 20's or 22's or18's or whatever size aftermarket wheel/tires but maybe for a different reason. the wheels under a truck make/break the look of the truck. nice looking 20" wheels with 33" or 35" rubber on them look good. now if you have them 19. 5" wheels, you'll have 32" or 33" or 34" maybe 35" tires that will last forever [almost... ] that are hard as nails, more expensive, and, to me, don't look as good because the wheels are all really narrow [7. 5" max i think wide] and the tires are narrow [285's max for the 35" iirc] but you still have the same amount of sidewall showing... now ok, your tires/wheels are rated for way more than the suspension/brakes/frame in your truck can handle, and if you modify those [especially brakes] i can see that you can haul more weight. now you can get 20" forged wheels that are rated for 3000 lbs or better. and tires that are over 3000lbs. that will put you at 12000 lbs. if your truck weighs in at 8-9000 lbs that gives you 3-4000lbs that your tires can take. that is more than enough for most people/most applications...
now i don't mean to pi$$ people off, but i like the look of the 20's and some of the posts above did pi$$ me off some. narrow minded. if you don't like the 20's, you don't need to say anything.
