Truck in signature will not turn over. No clicking but instrument lights light and wait to start is normal. Truck had been running an hour previously, went out to start again and it wouldn't turn over. Tried jump starting. Tried swapping starter relay with blower relay, no change. Tried jumper from starter solenoid to positive on battery, solenoid clicked but that's all.

Starter was replaced with new last summer (2013). Batteries are less than 2 years old.

Truck is fixed! While waiting for tow truck, I went back and checked and cleaned all battery terminals and connections.

But then I checked the fuses and found the starter solenoid fuse was blown! (located in the Power Distribution Center in the engine compartment next to the battery).

Replaced with spare located on the inside fuse panel and the truck turned over and immediately started.

Not sure what would cause the fuse to blow?

I'd keep a few extra fuses in there. Sometimes they just blow, sometimes there is a reason.

Odd that it did not start when you jumper'd it. Might have been a combination of 2 issues - battery terminals and fuse.

If this happens to you again I would suspect a bad starter solenoid as they are known (in general) to quit when hot and work again after the engine cools down.
