It sounds like the torque converter is locking and unlocking. Spend some time searching here and you will find many suggestions to fix the problem. From what I have read the best cure seems to be to reroute the charge wire from the alternator away from the harness with the APPS wiring Post #5 on this thread is what I'm talking about. https://www.turbodieselregister.com...poor-shifting?highlight=converter+lock/unlock Haven't done it on my truck yet, mine seems to be better when the truck is warm.
