ALMOST GRADUATED!!!!!!! OFF THE TRUCK AND ON THE DEALERS LOT A FEW HOURS AGO!!!!!!BRITE SILVER IS REALLY SHARP EVEN THOUGH IT HASN'T BEEN PREPPED YET,,WILL PICK IT UP TOMORROW,,3:54lsd,,,rear disc,,no black piece accross bottom half of the tailgate,,,lites in the tailgate,,,,,bad news is some one stole the center caps and wheel skins ,they are shipped inside the cab and came off the truck missing,,,no 3500's on the lot to take them off of but dealer has a delivery due in the morn. and should be there.

I don't know if any of You have had a problem with the people at the D. C. 800 number, but my 2 experiences with them have only served to raise my blood pressure. #ad

I have called twice to check my order status and I have not been able to get a status code either time. #ad

The last time I called the guy I talked to had the attitude that I was bothering him from the moment he answered my call, (after waiting 8 min. ), after I stated my request with a please he curtly informed me that "I needed to stay in touch with my dealer"
Maby I'm whining about this, but it seems when spending $$$$$$$ a little bit of courtesy could be shown to a customer.
How big a FORD do I have to buy to get the ISB? #ad

Don't have the same problem, they are very courteous but give me a differrent answer each time. Called Tuesday "KZ" will be shipped in two days. Called Friday morning, "was shipped on Monday" They can't keep their stories straight. No rail car# yet so what's that tell ya!

dealer called,,,,,pick it up,,bad news he said base price went up $250. ( which i was already aware of thanks to TDR ,and wanted to know if i still wanted the truck!!! yea right ON MY WAY TO GRADUATION RIGHT NOW !!!

Blue Goat, if you have a D1 status you should also have a scheduled ship date, have they given you one? I ordered 7/8 and am still D1. I have a scheduled ship date of Aug 18th so I guess they are going to build the thing this week. Yeah. #ad

mine ordered and accepted 7/21 Built 8/3 and ship date 8/3 sometime the 8/4 it went into I status (built not OK). Has not been updated since. This is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Dealer says call zone, zone says call resolution hot line, resolution hotline says call Zone mgr, Zone magr says she doesn't have control just wait. Complete runaround BS. They won't disclose the reason it has sat for 13 days after being built.

Please pardon my ignorance, but what is the DEE option, and why is there going to be a 2001. 5 model? What are the new features?

RobG; The DEE is the Dodge code for the H. D. 6 speed manual trans.
New trucks have 4 wheel discs with standard anti lock and several other features. there is a thread about this in this site under 2nd generation Ram,not drivetrain.

Thanks for the tip... I found the old topic. The new brakes sound great, but the reports of brand new trucks having wandering problems makes me hesitant.

The 2001. 5 could be just the ticket to get me to move up from my '96, but it'll have to be VERY worthwhile, as I'll have considerable expense de-modding the 96, or trying to sell it for a fair price with all the mods (air springs, TST plate, turbo housing, torque converter, valvebody, 60 gal fuel tank, etc).

I also checked the pricing on the new Chevy Duramax/Allison setup and it's $4000 more than a 6sp RAM, and that's invoice to invoice; I don't even wanna know what dealers are gonna want for 'em.

I'd definitely get a 6sp this time, and probably 4. 10's too. Since I'm weighing in now at over 18,000 lbs with the camper and trailer, the gears will be needed. Plus a PowerEdge or whatever other electronic goodies are out there for power boosting.

Once more people take delivery of their trucks and can report on quality control, I'll try to make a decision.

I also wish the Sport Appearance Package came in more colors; I'll probably end up with white.
