Iceman -- that sounds kind of goofy -- if the ship date was today then the status would not be "D", it would be at least D1 and more like "E, F, G, I or J". Maybe they gave you a bad date?? Just don't want you to get your hopes up.

I also just checked and mine is "D" with a build date of 8/7/00 and I have a VIN. It's coming from St. Louie for sure. That should make you UAW types happy. #ad

The dealer I am trying to buy a doolie from tells me that no prices are available for new trucks. He stated no dealer on earth could price out a new truck since DC hasn't sent anyone new sheets. Surely the people on here haven't ordered trucks with out knowing what they would have to pay! Tell me where to get prices from DC so I can tell the salesman. Randy E

My dealer told me the new pricing will be out in October. I told him that if I take delivery before that date, I'll pay him AFTER October. #ad

Seriously, he agreed to honor the price I've had since April 28th. We both have a signed copy of the pricing from that original order. Guess we'll see..... #ad

same question i asked,,how can it be D status this morn and have a ship date on the same day ?? they said that its done everyday and dont take all day to build ,,will call again tomorrow and see,,it shouldn't be something already built due to it being the new silver metalic,,also its a 3500 with the auto. if that makes any difference

Question on the Silver Metallic paint: Has anyone seen this color? Is it really different from the Driftwood color? I asked dealer, and he didn't know, but said that for years the dealer network has been complaining to DC about the Driftwood name. It seems a lot of customers had it confused with the bronze type color. The 2000 brochure shows the Driftwood color wrong (sort of a tan color) which made things worse. His guess is that the new Silver Metalic is really the same as the old Driftwood. Anyone know? #ad

Absolutely different! I saw an intrepid in the bright Silver and it is very different from the Driftwood. Much lighter and brighter.

ROB & MICK ,called DC again today and it is in D1 and the ship date is set for 7-25-00 . they said person yesterday must have mistakingly read from the wrong line on their p/c,,also truck is being built in ST. LOUIS ,i kinda thought D status and ship date for 7-13 was wrong,,who knows, maybe next call will tell me i dont have an order # yet. i waited 6 months for the 94 so this aint too bad,have a august camping trip to go on ,4 hour drive,,and was hoping to have the xtra room for the rugrats. it's bad enough with 4 in the reg. cab on the 1-2 trips we've been taking

Randy, actually my dealer also told me DC hasn't released pricing info yet but I ordered one anyway cuz I know I want one. He gave me a ballpark figure. Hey, it's only money. #ad

I got the serial number and build date of Aug 7 2000 for a 3500 quad cab. they are "adjusting the list prices" and from what my dealer tells me there will be very little difference in their cost at most 100-150 bucks.

Awww --- but the catch is that the rebate is for trucks you take delivery on before the rebate expires. Right now the rebate is scheduled to end on 8/7/00 for the 2001 models. They already extended it once from 7/31 so let's hope it gets extended again.

Also, get to your local Farm Bureau and join to get the $500 rebate. You must be a member for 30 days before delivery to get it though.

Joined the club last Thursday(7/14) Ordered 3500 QC 4x4 with all the trimings. Dealer say's ten week delivery!!!!

I agree with the suggestion on the Farm rebate and one may sign the sales contract and any financing agreement when the vechicle vin is available. This should allow one to take advantage of the rebate you may just have to wait for them (DC) to deliver your truck. I would try this route if they are telling someone that the rebate is about to expire.
My truck is a replacement so I just get to use the FB coupon for the difference in retail prices between the truck I turned in and the new truck.

Hey guess what --??

Got a call from my salesman last night and he had just checked on my truck. He said the build date has moved up from the second /week of August to 7/30-31. It should be here (based on his estimate) on 8/6-7 so I may just squeek in for the rebate. Wish they would extend it a bit more for comfort though. !!

That's GREAT news!!!! I spoke to my dealer Friday and they had no news at all #ad


They are working on applying the current incentive to my order..... they are trying to get updated pricing to confirm the price. We
both signed an order that stated we can cancel if the price difference is more than 2% higher than we were quoted.

Now I'm trying to find the local Farm Bureau. : ) : )
