I might be holding out for a 2001. 5 myself.

It seems the clutch for a 2001 DEE is on national backorder. So my truck (with 7 miles and a roasted clutch) sits idle on the lot collecting Arizona monsoon rain

Nope,it's not officially my truck yet. I'm still wrestling with the idea of skipping out on this one and ordering a new one.

I've surveyed everone I know, and haven't found one person that would take delivery of a vehicle that came broken from the factory. My own opinion doesn't count since I'm blinded by the want/need of the thing in the first place #ad

BTW: I highly recommend Frahm Dodge in Norco to anyone who is purchasing a truck. These people have been honest and up front with me from the start. If you are ordering a truck, you will be dealing with Mike Frost (one heck of a nice guy).

I was hoping to not be part of this club. My order got cancelled like everyone else's. My dealer is looking to locate one. I have not desided to take an 01 or an 01. 5. Just depends on what they come up with. It would be nice to get the 1k rebate.

ordered a 2001 Q/cab 4x4 3500,auto,all the goodies ex. leather on 06-01-00 and just found out the order is still setting on dealers desk because he says DC computer wont accept the the order. called DC cust. service and was told order should be able to be placed even though the line is down. what gives????? anyone have the truth about what the problem is ??? also will the truck be built as a 2001 or come as a 2001. 5 ??? will the invoice price change ??? will the rebate still be good if its a 2001. 5 ??? what changes are being made to the trucks ??? why cant they just tell the truth??? this waiting club is one that i am not very happy about being a member of!!! i guess there is no sense in getting mad ,,it will get here someday. the 94 took 6 months but was kinda understandable cause they were hot and every body wanted one.

It is my understanding that the line is down because they are re-tooling for the 2001. 5. That would mean that any new orders that go through, once they start allowing orders again, will be for 2001. 5. I don't think there have been any incentives announced for the 2001. 5 yet. The $1000 is for the 2001 and the $2000 is for the 2000 models. However the incentives just change to these last month, I think. As for the price, my guess would be that there will be a slight increase, but I don't know this for sure. I also am not sure what changes there will be. I don't think the new body style comes out until 2002. Hope this helps.

I bought mine 01 3500 HO off the lot 4/25/00. It was back in the service department 2 days later. After one week and the Cummins specialist from Detroit checking it out because of extended cranking times, Chrysler agreed to buy it back.
My dealer ordered a twin to replace it on or about 5/2/00. It came in last week and I am picking it up today now that all the paper work is done.
OBTW This truck runs awesome after it finally starts #ad
, and that is in comparison to my 98. 5 2500 with 275 injectors.
