Just saw in person the 2002 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton trucks! I even took a test drive in a "Quad Cab" model. All I can say is I certainly hope the 3/4 ton and 1 ton models are as well designed as these models are! I was very impressed with how well the truck performed in all aspects. It was very quiet, and smooth, even on a very bad road!
I also liked all the ideas Dodge has come up with in the cab of these trucks, such as the metal fold out floor in the rear seat, which makes the floor flat when the seats are folded. The rear doors also open a full 90 degrees for easy entrance and exit, and the rear windows go full down as well.
Looking under the truck, the frame is awesome! All the steering mechanism is behind the front cross member, and the frame is designed to collapse the first 2 feet in the event of a collision. I also liked the side air bags. In all the truck is very well designed, and very functional. Like I said, I hope the trucks with the Cummins engines are as well designed ase these are!
