There is a place in Weyburn, SK Canada, that manufactures and sells a kit to cure the pitman shaft slop in 94-01 DC's. It's a bracket that just bolts on and adds a third bearing to the bottom. Tightens everything right up. Cures worn ones and prevents good ones from getting worn permanently. No site yet, but Email is mttrk@sk. sympatico. ca Price is under $200. 00 Canadian funds. Only takes about 15 minutes to install, no welding drilling or jacking.

tazzen, yes i am running this fix on a 94-3500 CD,couldnt keep it on the road, spindle shaft bushing had a lot of play allowing the spindle shaft to move side to side excessivly, this fix completly cures the problem,( all Dodge trucks are affected with the wearing of this bushing and the later ones had a roller bearing and they where no better)$200. 00 is the best money i ever spent. Used it for 50,000 miles, steers like a Cadilac. Only thing that might have to be replaced ever on this fix would be the bearing,if ever,9/16 wrench and 10 mins of time. This fix will cure the steering box problems for the life of the truck and we all know that the life of a Dodge Diesel is up to a million miles.

Ed-An extension is mounted on the end of the pitman shaft, then a bracket with a bearing that mounts to the frame and runs under the steering box. The bracket utilizes the bolts that hold the torsion bar to the frame, so no drilling is required. The nut that hold the pitman arm is removed and replaced by the extension. The bearing is just a common 1", replacements can be bought at any ag dealer, NAPA, etc. We have a 1 ton with 120,000 miles on the original bearing. The play in the shaft is eliminated, because it's the bottom bushing or bearing that wears out.

We have sold this to people with completely worn out boxes to ones with new trucks so that their's wouldn't wear out. Not one complaint.

Price is $195. 00 plus shipping. UPS, Postal Service, Purolator, Loomis etc.

I don't have any pictures yet, but will have by next monday. (been selling locally, didn't know we'd have any long distance requests) Web site will be up soon also. Will E-mail pics.

We also manufacture a replaceable bearing fan belt tensioner pulley, rear wheel hop eliminator kit, turbo to exhaust pipe extension to go in place of wastegate when putting on non-wastegated turbo and various suspension parts.

Thank You for inquiring. If you have any questions please contact me:

I Installed the Enterprise Engine steering Box today. Good improvemnet over the loose AGR box. No surprises. It steers like a good rebuilt box. I am going to add Darin's Steering bracket soon too.

Thans Hemi dart for the info, think i will stay with my old box. Ordered a stiffener from Darin, ( so did everyone else on planet earth) I got under my truck and tightened the load on the input shaft and changed the fluid to valvoline sny, steers much better now, no play and smooth.

Hemi,

How long was the install? I have been told everything from 1/2 hour job to 5 hours!! I figure I'm fairly mechanically inclined... any little tricks that helped?

Thanks, Josh.

steering wander fix

Does anyone know if this bracket also works on an 3500 '02? I read that it fixes the 94 to 01's. The dealer has re-aligned the front end with new DC specs. That did help some but there still is a lot of room for improvement. In an interstate construction zone, where my left front tire was straddling uneven pavement, I nearly lost it. I am hoping this is the fix for '02s too!

It does fit the '02 3500. Is anything loose under your truck?

Trackbar maybe? They can wear out rapidly.

The bracket's only job is to eliminate play in the steering box

lower bushing/bearing.
