This is a post from a friend off of NWB. His name is Mark (HOSS) Harris.

I was on my home from work yesterday and just got about a mile from Boeing when the truck died

It had enough speed to limp around a corner and find a bus stop turn out to park in. I made a couple phone calls and Ben came to help me out THANKS BEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I check the codes and a P0500 vehicle speed sensor pops up as well as a 1693 companion code then I get a P0602

P0602 (M) ECM Fueling Calibration Error ECM Internal fault condition detected.

so I am pretty sure my EMC is toast. I left a message with Bob Wagner hoping he may be able to help me but the truck is on Roberts trailer in my yard and I have so many projects going on right now I do not even have room in my shop for my own truck.

If anyone has any info on this code or where I can get an 02 HO 6 speed ECM (it has to from an 02 or my cruise control will not work) please let me know.

If anyone has any insite as to why this happened or know of a new ECU please let me know.

Thanks,

Ben

Ben,

According to the Dodge Diagnostic Manual, that P0602 DTC should be reset, and only if this DTC keeps coming back should the ECM be replaced. If it's just a temporary "glitch" in the ECM, then the Diagnostic Manual suggests checking TSB's and reflashing the ECM with the latest software version.

Do you guys have access to a DRBIII to try and reflash the ECM?

LOL! If he ran out of fuel I will be telling everyone. :-laf

We are going to try to use a Smarty to reset it Sunday. :rolleyes:

I sold my scan tool that I had for my 99. It doesn't work on a 04. :{

Thanks Fellas,

My money is on the VP-44. I had the same thing happen at about 45 mph. The truck popped and died. I had numerous codes, but it always comes back to the VP-44... .

Mark ended up having air in the injector lines. He had to bleed them multiple times to get it to fire up. At this point he does not have an answer for how the air got in. I'll post about it when I hear more.
