Heys guys I just thought you'd like to check out the new rummors put out by the buzz.

http://www.car-truck.com/chryed/buzz/b121301.htm

He says that the new rams will have two cummins options available. One rate at 250hp and 460lb. ft and a HO version putting out 305hp and 555lb. ft. :) He also says that a single wheel Ram3500 will be available. He is suppose to post more information tomorrow so lets hope for some more good news.

P. S. The Duramax won't be the king of diesels next year:D :D

Auto Trans

Chuck3,

I agree with you I hope DC doesn't do what they do now with the auto. I'm sorry, but if they don't make a transmission to handle the HO's torque a lot of a potential buyers are still going to buy GM or Ford. Ford is going to have a new 5-speed auto with their diesel so DC needs to at least match them to stay competitive. Hopefully DC sees that and puts a transmission behind the cummins that is able to handle the engines torque reliably and efficiently, Also, I am still hopefull for a true crue cab to compete with GM and Ford instead of just an extended cab.

Whoa,, when did the duramax become the king of diesels? :D

Last time I checked, Cummins still gets higher MPG, Lasts longer, CAN make more power, has only 6 cylinders,, and is made out of only one type of metal.

I still happen to think the D-Max is wayy more hype than HP.

Duramax

MCummings,

Sorry I misphrased that. I meant to say the Duramax is tops on paper but we all know who is the real king of diesels in the real world and that diesel is part of your name:cool:

Joe

P. S "I'd rather walk than drive a Duramax":D

Just pokin' fun Joe. :D

wanna know why Chevy offered the rear-window warmers on the HD's?

So your hands won't get cold when you have to push it.

(I know,, the joke doesn't work with a pickup, but Chevy does offer rear-window warmers)

Chevy Tailgate Warmers

MCummings,

I think someone from TDR needs to post that suggestion for Tailgate warmers as an enhancement to their trucks:D :D. I for one have pushed my old truck 73GMC 4x4 in the cold weather and I sure could have used a warm tailgate to keep the hands warm. ;) I probably going to get flamed for this over at the GM site but its all in good fun:p

Joe

I hate to spoil the fun, but have you noticed that this engine uses common rail injection and EGR. That's a step in the wrong direction. I'm glad I got mine when I did.

RamThatStroker, I've only been there once, but I have family close to you. Just your side of Weston. Sure is beautiful country over there.

Brian

Does anybody else think that Dodge ruined the '03 trucks body? Personally I think they ford-a-fied them. When I look at the new Dodge body I see a ford. Dodge has its own unique body style and ford and chevy has tried to copy it, now Dodge IMHO is trying to copy ford.

The new 02 style is "okay" but if I had to pick one now it would be the fully loaded sport, w/ the factory grille guard and 20" wheels.

Will be interesting to see the 3/4 ton deisels. I hope that they don't mess with the engine too much. Right now my 99' is just broke in (50K miles) and ready for more mods.

I still think DC has kept their own identity vs. the others regarding the look. I don't think they really needed to go the extremes they did to update the truck though.

'03

I can live with everything I've seen on the '02 1500, but the IFS!

If the '03 2500/3500 has that, I'm gone. Had all the pleasure of IFS on a HD 4X4 I can stand for one life time!

Denny

When those come out I will add an EZ... . and walla... . 245+65= 310 flywheel horsepower... then I'm competitive again:D :D :D

Still think I got the best of the best:p :p :p

Weston Area

Brian,

Your right the area, in my opinion is one of the most beautiful areas in colorado. I feel so blessed to have grown up in this area with its clean water, breathtaking scenery, and abundant wildlife. It is my hope to purchase some land up there to do some hunting and hiking one day. I have family that lives in both Weston and Segundo and some friends that live by past monument lake if you know where thats at. If you want let me know the names of your family and just maybe I might know them

More news and a picture about the HD rams

Well guys the buzz has posted more info about the new rams. The good news is that the HO cummins will be available with an automatic. The bad news is it seems that the transmission is just a reworked version of the 47RE. The link posted below has all of the information.

From that angle the truck looks like a (excuse the racial references)

Looks like a Chinese girl with her hair pulled way to hard backwards, and those chepo chrome dually simulators have to go !!

Where's the dubs (20" rims)on the 1-tons ? :D

I'm not much likin' it as much as I thought,, maybe it's just a bad angle ?

MerrickNJr

P. S. Bill Kondolay is doin' purty good re-workin the Dodge Auto trannies all ready,, If it's close to the current transmission,, you could DTT is without having to wait years for R&D (Just months) :)

Ya know what I'm thinkin' right now?

That pic sure looks "Doctored".

The Hood is supposed to be taller like the Chevy HD's.

The rear duallies are the same as the '98. 5+ years.

ANybody else thiknin' that's a bit doctored ?

MerrickNJr

The way I read the article it is a doctored photo and not represented to be an actual spy picture. I like the sound of the upgrades so far and can not wait to here more about the suspension.
