Well I got around to posting some pics of my (almost) completed custom floor console. I've updated my website with a few pics if anyone is interested.

I think it turned out pretty slick and almost looks like it came with the truck.

Very slick TBrennan! It will look even more awesome with the LCD screen, scanner, etc. etc. you mentioned. Makes me almost wish I had the auto with electronic TC :)

Do you think you'll miss the pop-out cup holder? I use mine every day and seldom push it back into the dash. I'm also working on a CB mounting bracket (basic 16 guage sheet metal with a 90* bend and milled slots where the bolts are) that will attach between the channel metal and bolts on the console, and one of the goals is to keep it far enough back so the cup-holder still opens when the CB is mounted and in use. I think my biggest problem will be spilling whatever drink I have on the CB as I lift it out of the cup-holder.

Can't wait to see it loaded up with all the electronic toys and goodies.

I have a stick and a manual transfer case so this mod is not in my future.

Very well done!!!

I have a question though... where did you get the "self-adhesive vinyl" that you wrapped it in? I'm planning on building a setup similar to this for my 2nd gen, and am unsure how I was going to cover it. I think yours looks really good.

Thanks, Josh

Hey if you start making and selling those consoles, I will be one of the first to buy one from you!!!

I got the Vinyl from PartsExpress.com. It's pretty cheap, like $10 for much more than I needed. It's good stuff and adheres well.

As far as making them to sell, I'd love to but with the current equipment I have it takes far too many man hours to be feesible. I really don't have the right equipment set up right now or the space but I will have a garage built next year I hope.

I'd love to start a small side line buisness making truck accessories, maybe, someday ... .
