Should I be hearing the turbo spinning down?

Cool, a new forum..

With all due respect for all those driving the "new style". It's going to take me a long time getting use to the new look... a very long time.

Couple random observations.

1) Hard to tell from those pics but it looks like they gave us back the hood ornament. Mixed feelings about this,I want one, but so do all the #%^@ kids in the nieghborhood.

2) I thought the new engine was supposed to have the accessories driven off the rear?

It looks like that's the new v-8 not a cummins, but what is interesting is the possible electronic addition to enhance our 47re trannies.

Frankly, I am VERY dissapointed in the new truck - if this is how the new hevy-duty Rams are going to be. Same transmissons? These will be even more "torque managed" than the current models. No true backseat either. If that is a hood ornament, I don't like it. Additionally, I was told the HD trucks would look differently than the light duty trucks just like Ford does with their line.

Speaking of Ford, the tow rating given in the article are on par with F-450's. That I like but I'm not giving up my '01 for that.

I LIKE IT!!!

i'm gonna look at them (3500's) when they hit the dealers and if i like what i see my '01. 5 could possibly be for sale:D

I like it too, and if you read **ALL** the other threads about the 2003 diesel trucks, somewhere you will find mention of the new 48RE transmission.

A while ago, there was a short thread about an experience one of the members had with a D-C engineer, who discussed with him the existance of a 68RE transmission. I went looking for the thread the next day so I could print it out for reference, but it had been purged from the planet. Contracts must have been put out by D-C to bury this information, X-Files-like. ;)

I hope the D-C does well with the 2003 3/4 and 1-tons. I'd like a truck with a larger back seat, but that purchase will depend on finances.

Jar Head, have you actually sat in one of the 2003 QC 1500s? You'd have to be one BIG BUBBA not to fit in the back seat. -:D :D
