2003 fuel pump on older models

Steve, nice job the article. I noticed the new lift pump will be made by Federal Mogul, do you have any info as to the compatibility of this pump working on the older trucks. That is if it proves to hold up. Or does the new injection system prevent that possibility. Just Curious.

I don't think it will work. First of all it's attached completely differently, I think it bolted straight to the fuel filter assembly and didn't have a line coming out of it - it just went straight into the filter. So you may have to retrofit the entire filter assembly as well. It was hard to tell on the engine cutaway because not all of the lines were there and I forgot to check it on the truck. I would also guess that the pressures will be different than what we run - but I don't know that for sure. I took a picture of it but that is the only picture I took that didn't come out (there was an error on the floppy disk).
