Replaced original pump at 90K miles before problems started (bought it through Geno's). At 120K it failed. Dodge dealer convinced us to go with the in-tank pump since "they experienced so many failures with external pumps. " Our extended warranty paid only the cost of the external pump--we paid the balance. Since new pump was installed our fuel gauge is not functioning properly. Dealer installed a second new pump--that didn't help. Their solution: 1) Live with it (not acceptable to us!); 2) Pay for parts for a new external pump and in-tank sending unit (they discarded our old, working one). Our warranty won't pay a second time and this suggested fix will cost us around $500. The gauge is nearly one-half tank off of the correct reading. Any help out there? #@$%!
