JHardwick - try replacing the FCA. It's only a couple hundred bucks, which is cheap compared to a whole CP-3.

I just got in from Wi and called the parts department in time to get a price of $170. 00. They need me to pay in advance and won't be back open until Monday ... ... ... . it's 5:05PM. What is the function of the FCA? Can it stop the hicups and erratic high idle?

2003 Service Manual said:The FCA is an electronically controlled solenoid valve. The ECM controls the amount of fuel that enters the high-pressuire pumping chambers by opening and closing the FCA based on a demanded fuel pressure. An audible click from the FCA is normal whenm operating th key to either the ON or OFF positions.
rbattelle said:That should give you some ideas. Your mileage must be up over 150k by now - have you adjusted the valves yet? Just throwing out ideas. One thing I don't know is whether you can have a failing FCA without a MIL. Are you still running the stock lift pump... the one on the backside of the fuel canister? I'm sorry if none of this is much help - I think I stink at diagnostics.

JHardwick said:Well, I put a new FCA on the CP-3 today and it still acts stupid!
rbattelle said:Ouch. Please don't blame me. Or at least don't send me a bill for the FCA.
