AEdelheit ,Add down stream Pressure regulator with bypass to Tank,That way you will be filtering More fuel and You can run your lift Pump ar 100% capacity adding to the life of the pump,ALL CR Dodge trucks Pumps have lift ability, if the GP can pull through your system it will run,its when you loose the prime it will NOT start, A shot of either will get it up and running if NO restriction exist,So add a couple of Valve to you system and if the electronic Pump fails you can switch feeds and the truck will run WITHOUT the lift Pump.

On edit: Ben believes in that filer, I think its good for warm climates,I like that fact you kept the factory can in Place,I see NO need to remove it unless you need the space. Its easily modded to support 1000hp if necessary.

Ill be keeping that little green transfer pump with me incase the Fass has an issue but a bypass valve is a good idea! I get the impression you dont like the filter, any reason why?

Water separation filters/units just are NOT equal to the media absorbing, Some of the Media is rated to 5ppm, I never see any ratings on the separating units. If these filters did what they claim I and half of the aftermarket suppliers would be OUT of business, You can eliminate most of the threat by adding filtration. Water is 10 times more likely to cause damage then material,If you allow the Needle of and CR Injector to be exposed to humid conditions it won't fit back into the armature,if you leave the piston of any CP3 exposed to heat (Leave in sun just minutes) it won't fit back into its bore,if the body of the CP3 is exposed to humid conditions without the piston in its bore throw it into the recycle pile.

The ONLY way to guarantee 99% of the time to stop contamination is auxiliary filtration with notification (before and after),99. 5% of the time fuel is good in America and adding filters will ad in prolonging Injection component's life, that . 5% is when you need the system necessary to take appropriate action, All direct Injection filtration Still will allow contamination through,I have dropped fuel tanks with gallons of water in them, garbage I have NO idea of what it is,rust form pipes ETC.

I have notice the aftermarket is Now supplying filter Heads with priming capacity and 1 way internal valve, install this with proper piping and you can ditch the lift Pump altogether. its Not necessary unless looking for additional HP, I have tested GP units with 500,000 miles on them still pulling 25HG.

I have no Problem with that filter, its a good one.

Is the stock filter used? What is the expected life of the new filter?
You could probably change it once a year. The beauty is that you can see the bottom, and drain it off. Racor filters are superior at stripping water. If you spot a problem there, it's better than at the stock can.
