Has anybody run across a wire harness tee connector kit for 2004. 5 factory 7 blade recptacle at rear of bed? It's time to wire for our new fifth wheel. Or should I get the solder gun out?

Thanks:

I have a louvered 5er tailgate on my rig and the vertical distance from the V cutout of the tailgate to the bumper mounted receptacle is only about 16 inches. So I just plug the trailer into the bumper receptacle and secure the cable in place with a velco cable strap as it passes over the tailgate.

Seems to work fine, am I missing something here??

I didn't look at the Klenger's link. . but just run a "extension" into the bed and mount a 7 pin receptical there, have a extra foot or two of wire coiled under rig for later repairs mentioned later. .

7 pin male to original location route cable under bed up into box wall drill hole and mount 7 pin female connertor secured to bed wall. . that way you will have the 7 pin rear as needed... when not using the 5th wheel unplug the "extension" end and lay on top of the existing mount. . works great been doing it for a year now.

and easy repair when someone else helps ya and forgets to un plug the trailer and pulls out the receptical

Greg. . never left, just don't post much anymore... usually just read early AM... old dairy boy who never broke the early habbit LOL I still get up at or about 4:00/4:30 Am for no reason as I'm retired LOL
