2004 Ordering Guide on line

Just looked at the Dodge website. If you go in to the "build and price" section, they have 2004 specs now listed. BTW, full size spare tires are now optional. Underhood lights show as part of the light group. Regular output diesel shows as available in Calif. (you have to give them your zip code in order to "build" the truck. A few option prices increased. Pretty interesting stuff.

in NJ for 2004, I can no longer order a standard-output Cummins (not that I want it), nor can I order a 3. 73 limited slip (which could be ordered in 2003 - that I do want).



The 3. 73 would give me the same rpms as my current 3. 54 with factory size tires:

215/85R16E, 3. 54, 65 mph, 47RE in OD = 1799 rpm

235/80R17E, 3. 73, 65 mph, 48RE in oD = 1813 rpm



in comparison...

235/80R17E, 4. 10, 65 mph, 48RE in OD = 1993 rpm



I sure want a limited slip with the extra torque, especially since we got first snow last year October 30th! If this is indeed true and not just a website glitch, I'll have to suffer the reduced fuel conomy, because spinning the tires is not an option.

The S.O. and 47RE are GONE for '04!?

Very Interesting... ... ... Putting in my Illinois Zip Code for the 2004 provides only the HO and only the 48RE trans option, there is no S. O. listed nor is there a 47RE? Not to be a jerk, but I honestly feel sorry for people that bought the S. O. with a 47RE. It seems like DC was looking to unload their remaining S. O. engines and 47REs. I think that is really going to hurt the re-sale on these trucks down the line.



Now that only the H. O. is available, I wonder what will happen with EGR, etc.

When I just built a 04 for "kicks" I had to put the 3. 73 last (kept adding 1x1 and recal) or it would redo all back to a hemi. Same with any paint to the right of the Patriot Blue. Also, note the CREDIT of 65$ for ordering the tow mirrors on the SLT confused: $-65 is what it reads). Why are they less than the std mirrors? Ho/Hum just another DC way to get us.



Also, under both dealer adds (03 & 04) you could get the interior/shock sensor for an added 130 smacks... I wonder if this would work with the factory EVS system, since it has everything else but the infared & shock? Will probably order to find out.

the 47RE was dropped in December - it's not even made any more. Both SOs and HOs used the 48RE from that point on.
