Archived 2004 Ram 2500 4wdr broken control arm

I am new to this group so please bear with me. I just discovered a lower control arm on my 2004 Ram 2500 has completely broken
in 1/2. Is this as unusual as I think it is? Also, should I consider replacing both the upper and lower control arms? any help you can lend is appreciated.

Depends on what broke it. If it was use and not an accident then replace all of them. Did it split on the formed halves or cross break?

It broke in half as if it had been cut, can not really say as to why as it is a daily driver and only pulls a load occasionally. The
hardest thing that I can recall hitting are the speed bumps that seem to sprout everywhere around here on our roads and I try to
be gentle with them..

I have seen many break in Baja,there were teams running in stock full class that were begiing for all the used ones they could find
