Ah, they basket truck project. Although you can't rebuild this one on the coffee table! I hope that the previous owner can provide some insight into what direction the project was going. You may need to have the software in the ECM replaced since you were given a programmer that doesn't match the truck. Pull any codes you can, then fix those before throwing anymore random parts at it. Good luck with the repairs. Sucks that you don't have a repair shop to lean on for help.

Thank you for the advice, my plan now is to fix all the faulty sensors, inspect all the wires and replace any bad connectors. New fuses for the fuse box then send the ecm in a 7000 mile trip from Kuwait to the US to get it inspected, reprogrammed/re-flashed for a manual transmission. If that doesn’t fix it. I don’t know what will.

Is there a reason why you want to transform it to a manual?
I'm in this forum for ten years now and from what I read the MT are a Can of worms too - and the support for the AT is much much better then for the MT, especially as they get older, spare parts are often hard to get for them. Troublesome clutches and so on..

But good idea for the ECM, which company are you use for that? Because there are good ones - and bad ones too. You might wanna start a new thread to ask for a company with a good reputation.

Couple of reasons I want to do a manual swap. My Auto needs a rebuild, and for the power I am aiming to (750+), it will cost me nearly 10K + shipping. Secondly, I always liked shifting my own gears so a personal preference. I also made sure to get a built manual, got a 5600 from superstick so hopefully it will be up for the task. For the ECM, I still have no idea what company to work with. So I’ll probably start a new thread about it when the time comes
