I picked up my brand new Laramie a few weeks ago to find the standard power rear window missing. It seems that if you add the defog option, they delete a $1200 window and give you an $85 credit. Boy was I upset. The dealer didn't know this (that's what they told me anyway) and when I filled out the build sheet on line, it didn't tell me either. It appears that like other options that let you know the configuration requires changes more than just the option, this rear window option neglects to tell you that your power rear window just evaporated. I am waiting for a quote from the dealer on the parts for the power rear window. I'll install it myself, that way I know the job was done correctly.
I've never needed a rear defroster in all the trucks I've owned, just selected it because I wanted it all, and for some reason this option gave a credit (even though it did not stipulate the reason). I guess it wouldn't be so bad, but this mistake is not something you could really plan for. I thought about going after DC for the change back to the power slide without the defrost... ... I would certainly be willing to pay back the $85 credit. That's fair... isn't it?
