Snow Performance Stage 2.5 water/methanol injection

Inconsistent RPM

I’m new to Cummins and the guy I got it from said the transmission was new. I Went to the gas station and fuelled up and when I tried to put in drive the shifter was loose. Got it towed and got mechanic to change the shifter cable and the shifter linkage. he said he adjusted cable and everything but now wherever you put the shifter it goes into reverse. Just seeing if anyone knows what it could be before i spend a bunch money sending it to the shop. Thanks for reading

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have maintenance records from the previous owner or paper work for the rebuilt transmission?

How many miles are on the truck?

The transmission being rebuilt before you got it in suspect as well as the garage you had it towed to for the shifter linkage and cable. Did the mechanic test the gears before saying the shifter linkage was the issue?

I drive a roll back for AAA and have had to put transmissions into N or gear numerous times from the side of a transmission/bellhousing linkage bracket and then explain to people what happened and why their transmission wouldn't go into gear.

Get the details first before you drop money on it, there's a growing number of hands that have touched it now and not everyone is as competent as they like to think they are.
