Love my '07 5. 9 w/ G56 trans - has never seen the inside of a garage (aside from mine, for doing normal service work).

My truck's title is locked away for good, because I have no intentions of ever selling this truck.

I absolutely LOVE my 07, except the trans. Ive had more issues with the aftermarket "bulletproof" trans than I had with the stocker. I knew I was taking a chance on the auto when I bought it. Unfortunately, the trans issues are likely leading to me trading in my baby on an 09 Mega 6. 7/G56. Ive always preferred a manual, and now that Ive had an auto, Im ready to go back to shifting. I just cant afford two $5-7k rebuilds every year. Itll be cheaper getting a new truck.

For a daily driver, Ill likely never get an auto again, except maybe the 68rfe. But this will be a towing rig/daily driver, hauling a yet-to-be acquired 5th wheel camper and a gooseneck hauling a strict drag/dyno truck thatll be auto.

Again, nothing bad to say about the truck itself. Its been great and I really dont want to get rid of it, but the trans is milking me and putting me in the poor house. Ill miss the truck :{

I traded in a 2007 Duramax for my Brand New '07 5. 9 Cummins for that very reason, last of the 5. 9's in December of '07. No regrets, it is the best truck I have ever owned, and no lack of aftermarket mods available. I consistently get 20+ mpg's between city and highway when not towing, and 16+ mpg's when towing my 30ft. Travel Trailer.

I love my `07 5. 9. I have the lower ratio 6th gear (not the late change), but with my 35" tires it's really no problem. :) I actually hurried up my plans when I bought mine because I ordered it the way I wanted it, and when I found out the changes were coming I stepped up earlier than planned. I have no regrets. ;)

After putting 3500 miles on my '07 in the last month, my only complaint is the uncomfortable seat. My '01. 5 laramie had way better seats.

I have had some issues with my 07. First at 30,300 miles I blew my turbo switching lanes on the free way. Then had to get the update on my steering components because the ball joints were so wore I couldn't align it at 32,000 miles. Now today I just picked my truck up from getting the rear main seal replaced because of leakage at 33,200 miles. Not real pleased when I have the smarty programmed, just constantly smokes, I prefer running the stock software right now. I will do say that this truck stock runs better than my old 05 or my dads 04 did and I get consistent 19 mpg on the highway.

I had the leaking problem with my CP3 very early (around 23000 mi). Apparently Bosch did have a bad run of pumps which seem to all leak. It was replaced by the dealer whose monkey tech broke an engine fan blade while removing the fan (also replaced). Otherwise, everything has been absolutely fantastic.

I had money down on the '08 - then I did more reading about the plans for us by our friends at the EPA - got the money back and grabbed an '07 5. 9 - could not be happier. 56,000 on the meter and only changed a U-joint thus far. My only regret is putting so many miles on it so fast, but with all the moving around I have done and also there is no way in **** I will live near the city!

Absolutely love my truck - if I could only find another new one locked away somewhere to store as a replacement for this one for when that dreaded day comes! Thank God that will be a long way off... .

Go for it and don't look back - you'll be happy.
