Would you turn your rear rotors at 75K?

Does anyone have a part # for the 2007 in dash exhaust brake switch as well as the the replacement black mounting piece for the 4 control switches? It should work with my 2006 correct? Does anyone know if the exhaust brake switch should be compatible with a PacBrake instead of running a toggle switch?

I'm having my exhaust brake installed in my 2006 mega cab Monday. I asked for this set up as well. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Another option if this one will not work is the switch for the second Gen Jacobs brake.

When I installed my brake on a 2000 I wanted a gear shift switch. Because of the near manual operation of this brake I though it would be more convenient than the dash mounted rocker switch it came with. When I had the brake installed on my 2004 I used the switch it came with, a shifter mounted job. With the nearly touchless operation of the 3rd gen brakes, I opted to go with my old second Gen toggle switch with the logo from the picture on it on my 2003. I hope to cut down on the "has this thang got a two speed rear end" questions that I get on a regular basis with the shifter switch.

There is one switch, 4602692AB. There are four possible bezels depending on what equipment you have, brake, heated seat, and power slide window.

1FB13DX9AA Brake only

1FB14DX9AA HS-Brake

1FB15DX9AA PSW-Brake

1FB16DX9AA HS-PSW-Brake

I had my brake installed today and what a disappointment. The system comes with an old style choke looking pull/push switch that is placed on the metal arm of the gear shift lever. It comes up through the streering column and out the rubber boot. My service manager knew that this was not what I wanted so they found the right 4 button bezel for me. Additional cost is between $30 and $40. They could not tell me how long for the part to come in. For now, they wired this switch under the steering column and it just lays on the center consol, this will make it easier to remove when the switch pictured in this thread comes in.

I am also interested in having the factory jake brake installed. I think that factory bezel looks great. Since I don't have the sliding window or heated seats, I'd have room for other switches for future items like front floods, etc.

Will the kit that comes from DC just plug into the factory dash mounted switch? I've seen the wiring in place for the heated seats and such that I don't have. Are the wires there for the jake as well?

The other bad thing about the add on, is that they give you 2 new badges that state "JAKE BRAKE". However, these badges are made of plastic and really do look like **** when next to the factory badges. No big deal for me as I'm thinging about removing all the badges any way, just thought I would let you guys know. I've only put about 30 miles on since the brake was installed but what a difference. I'm ral glad that I spent this money.

Using the numbers provided I was unable to locate a MSRP/Retail price on these items. I used the Dave Smith Parts locater and struck out (Part Number Search Results, No Parts Found).

Give me a hand.

Also I was looking at using a Pacbrake, will the factory switch still work?

I called my local Dodge dealer for pricing.

4602692AB Switch - $9. 00

1FB16DX9AA Bezel - $12. 00 - just released

They couldn't tell me how many wires came out of the switch. Doesn't the switch that comes with the Jacob's EB have several wires that come from the switch? Does anyone know if the two switches can be interchanged? Thanks.

Wow, Hope you have long arms! I would prefer it closer, with a manual you turn it on and off every time your shifting.

what is typical dealer installed cost for an exhaust brake.

I have an 06 3500 drw 4x4 Laramie and do have heated seats and sliding rear window.

I just had one installed on my new 07 Mega Cab and it cost me $1600. 00, total package. I opted for the shift lever switch as I did not want to have to be bending down going down a mountain pulling my fiver to work the Jake.

I bought my truck in august and bought the jake brake at the same time, which was self installed, it was fairly straight forward to do, just took some time, and a second set of hands is very helpful. As far as the switch i installed the shifter mounted switch that came with it, it has four wires, a ground, power, wire to ecm, and then an extra that i believe would turn the light on the switch on if installed (i opted not to install that). However, as soon as i was driving the switch was rattling like crazy and making all sorts of noise. I but a hair band from my daughter around it. Recently i decided that this looked quite tacky, and back to the dealer i went to request another switch, which they promptly ordered for me no questions ask. Looking at the switch you should be able to cut the wires and mount any type of switch that you would like to it. There is nothing special about the switch, any switch that has 3 wires coming out of it will work. Hope this helps anyone making a decision, I am thinking about getting the dash mounted one as it looks like a very clean setup and there would be no worries about rattling.

I went to pick up the exhaust brake switch that mounts in the dash. The switch just has 6 pins coming out the back. The dealer couldn't find a pigtail that would plug into the switch. My guess is the pigtail is part of the instrument cluster wiring harness. So unless someone can come up with a pigtail the switch isn't going to work.
