I just picked up my 2010 yesterday and have not been keeping up with the new 6. 7L. What are my exhaust options?

Doing some quick searching, its seems my choices are MBRP and Flo-Pro. Is this correct?

I'm leaning towards a filter back setup for now that I can eventually add to by deleting the dpf and cat down the road (Black Max maybe). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Banks also has something as well. I've been looking as well. Most seem to just straight pipe the existing muffler to get some sound. The reasoning it seems is that the cat and Particular filter do a good job of surpressing the exhaust noise. Now the real question is does adding an aftermarket exhaust do anything to help increase performance or lower egts???????? Or does it just make the truck sound a little better?

Honestly, a DPF back "system" or even a straight pipe will add no sound or reduce egt's at all. The stock muffler is window-dressing.

All the dyno testing shows no gain, maybe real world testing will feel better due to a lil more noise. It will also cause the dealer to look much closer before doing any warranty work.

Would any modifications to the air intake be a waste too? I was thinking of a AFE super stock air filter and a DPP cool hose.

i wouldn't f with the truck at all. i have put 12k on it in 2. 5 months and feel it is perfect for my use. if you want to tweak something, buy an older cummins. my opinion only, your desire / use might require more power or noise. i feel the reliability of the truck will suffer with mods and accordingly will leave mine alone. its hard to resist the mod bug, but the truck is my daily driver and i use it mainly to put 8k of steel around me as the drivers around here are nuts.
