2011 check engine light , limited power

Ok, I have around 44000 miles on it and the check engine light is on and I seem to have a major power loss. What is causing it and how do I correct it? truck starts and seems to sound ok just a loss of power. No mods on it, just changed the oil, all temps seem normal.

Use the ignition key ON-OFF three times stopping at ON to read the codes in the odometer or take it to a dealer. The new trucks and the techs who work on them are trained and set up to diagnose by computer.

If you just changed the oil, make sure the oil filler cap is turned until it clicks. Otherwise, you will get the code for a low crankcase pressure and it will delimit the engine.



Harvey is right on. Also, you can go to Autozone and they will read them with a scanner for free.
