Any word yet on the Ford 6. 7 revamp? From all the problems I've seen here in Ak I would guess it will be a totally new engine.

F'ed Outta Real Dollars. Seems like Ford can't build a decent engine, or even buy one. At least you never have to change oil and filter. . . the engine doesn't last long enoughl

Of course, after Ford buys back the defective truck, a lot of owners use the buyback money to get a new. . . <gasp> Ford because the dealer says they are improved and the problems are fixed, lol.

I met a guy with an '04 Duramax in the eastern Sierras last June. With 129K he's on his 4th set of injectors. Lots of grief out here.

The rumors that i've heard is that after 2014, the current platform 6. 7l Scorpion engine will be no longer... not sure if its to the scrap heap or a major re-vamp of the current platform in an effort to improve reliability/durability and of course, keep up in the horsepower wars.

I'm passing along a big thanks and a tip o' the hat to you for helping my best buddy get his Ford worked on per the TSB you posted. He had symptoms that matched the TSB and advised the svc mgr several times including documentation and going higher up on the food chain trying to get a resolution. I read your thread and the TSB and printed it for him, he read it and said humphf, filed it away. Months pass and the truck continues to misbehave, back to dealership, hey guys my truck is doing this and it is the same as the complaint in this TSB. Svc mgr reads TSB, Hummmmpppffff!



OK, we're scheduling your truck, plans are made, parts ordered etc.



The truck was in the shop for 1 month. The repair was delayed for a series of reasons including getting the wrong head gasket I believe 2 times. The correct part finally arrived and the truck was put back together and the next day returned to fix a leak. The truck has only been back for a few days and its status as an effective repair is unknown.



But I want to pass along a thanks to wingate for the info and in particular the TSB, it made a difference.

You are very welcomed!. Glad some of the info posted was able to help... Hope your friends issues are all behind him and he can enjoy his new truck. I can only imagine the gut wrenching feeling if I heard the engine in my 50K brand new truck was fixing to get ripped apart by some guy working @ warranty rates! I'd probably just throw up and trade it in on a Prius!
