2011 Ship Date

Just heard from Dave Smith motors that my 2011, 3500 Laramie will ship Aug11. That's a little less than six weeks since i ordered it. It will come with the trailer brake as standard equipment, but will be replaced with my Brake Smart from my 2003.

I ordered the chrome apperance group, but it is no longer an option for 2011. So the tube steps will be a dealer add on now.

On the chrome appearance group no longer being a factory option, are the chrome door protectors a dealer add on also? Guess even if they weren't you could order some for a 10 and put them on...

If it was part of that package, it will be a dealer installed option now.

Dealer doesnt sell vent visors anymore either. Said there was some liability issue... got some from ebay for 35$, quite happy with em. .

Yesterday was the shipping date from the factory, so no i haven't got it. Even if it came in tommorow, i can't go get it until the middle of next month.

Speaking od dually, I'm dien' to see what the new aluminum dually wheels look like. According to the order sheet, there's aluminum and chromed aluminum. I was told that Laramie's come with the chromed aluminum... I'd love to see a picture of them.

How did you even order it?? When I ordered my 2011, the computer didn't list it as an available option, and the dealer insisted that it was not available on the 2011s.

My salesman is Bear Smothers. I guess we will see about the chrome option, time will tell.

was told it wasnt either, but the window sticker says chrome accents group $1,175 includes side steps,exhuast tip and bodyside molding

Maybe they're making the chrome standard on the Laramie pack. That's the way it was when I ordered my '06 Laramie. I just added the side steps as a factory option... .



I still can't belive we're able to order 2011's at the dealer, but the website hasn't been updated to show any info on the '11's...

Just talked to the dealer, and the steps are on my invoice, but no chrome package. Damned if i know!!

Switching gears...

Hey, I just read a article that says that Dodge is going to be putting an 8 speed transmission and upping the torque to 750flb in 2012... . Anyone else hear anything on this? If it's true, maybe I should have waited... . :{

Seems to me that they would have to find a better manual transmission or at least a better clutch before they offered a higher output 6. 7 and 8 speed auto... Unless they're going to be like the other two and no longer offer a manual transmission!...
