When do you think we'll have a good idea of the 2012 capabilities?

The reason I ask is back in July 2010, I could have ordered a 2011 but it was assumed everything was the same as 2010, no real info other then ''no changes''. So I thought I would wait. If it looks like 2012 will be a year of big power, transmission, payload, and towing increases I want to be getting a 2012. If its not going to change much I'll just get a 2011 or look at the GM trucks. I test drove a 2011 last week and was impressed, 2011 3500 Dually, loaded.

But since we are looking at a 9' or 10' slide in camper and want to be able to haul our Enclosed Trailer filled with Quads and RZR we are at the edge of a 4. 10 geared 2011 Dually limits.

I daily drive my 2005 Dodge 3500 Dually and will NOT move up to a Chassis Cab.

Well JMO I would Never buy a Duratrash powered truck if they gave it to me I would find away to stay with Dodge

There are rumors for big changes in 2012. 5 a mid year change. I read (rumors) 450hp 800lbs torque, 8 speed transmission and urea...

I read on cumminsforum.com posted by another member. But fits into the rumor catagory. Thats was the first time I heard actual numbers. But did read some where else about the timing of the mid year 2012 model. But why an 8spd unless the power ratings are expected to rise. Otherwise they could just use the current 6sp. There has to be some sort of answer to the competition and it would have to be soon based on the upcoming proposed epa regs for 2014.

The new regulations from the Punishment Agency are nothing more than fuel economy standards. I believe SCR is one of the ways to improved FE.

Anyone who thinks they need a 450HP pickup should be shopping for a true medium duty truck.
