That's not a whole lot more than my '07 SLT regcab in '07 listed for. The auto was $1100 my year,as I recall.

Somebody's going to come out with some kind of aftermarket protective fuel cap for piece of mind though.

I know I would sure want some sort of fuel cap on there.

Little off subject but look at the weights mounted on the framerails of the 1500's... one on each side. .

I wonder what the purpose of those weights are? Hope they have a good reason since the payload capacity on the 1500s are like nothing... People, on another forum are posting pics of the payload sticker, from 1500s, and some are like 800lbs. I'm talking you have to count your occupants against that number too. It's as if the 1500s are being built to only haul air in the pickup bed... .

I think I remember seeing something like those on the GMs years ago. I'm sure they are Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) add-ons. Frame was probably singing.

About the new cap less fuel neck I was wondering about the filler tube size. Will the truck island fuel nozzle fit in the spout?

It looks like a standard gas island filler neck opening to me. This would suck because I fill up in the truck islands when towing my 5er if this is really designed for the smaller nozzle of a gas pump.

They look like little training wheels :-laf

Or a larger version of the little brass, rock type fuel filter that the old Chevy Quadrajet carbs used... ...

On the capless fuel filler, I think it would be a bad deal on dusty roads. Also the fuel tank shrunk by 6 gallons:confused:

Nick

The scary part of the fill situation will be any cross contamination between the two tanks. Any hydrocarbons will ruin the heating element in the def tank and I am sure you all know the dangers of water in the fuel

The smaller fuel tank is probably becaise of the DEF tank.

Bill

That truck is a reg cab long bed. Bigger trucks may have bigger tanks?

That filler hole isn't small. It may accommodate the bigger spouts.

From what I heard, the DEF tank is under the driver's seat, no where near the fuel tank. I think it has more to do with the frame design change on the 3500. That additional cross member for the gooseneck prep is probably the reason, and since they're always looking to save some coin, they went' with the smaller tank on both the 2500/3500.

That has been an issue with the big trucks, the first year was awful.

Many fleets still have the message for the drivers waiting for assistance while on
hold "DO NOT ADD DEF TO THE FUEL TANK ITSELF!!!!"... ... .

See EDIT...

I noticed that the Diesel option has gone up in price from my 07 C&C at $6100. 00 and added on to that the Ultra Clean Diesel System $995. 00 for a total of $7095. 00. So if you subtract the total cost of my Diesel option at 7095. 00 from the new cost of 7795. 00 has increased by $700. 00.

The 2500 2013 is no more Truck then the 2012 with 2013 electronics, Interior, Emissions, the 3500 2013 does NOT exist and Talk about the milk before the cow..... Diaz Has been claiming since Sept 2012 the NEW 3500 would here Spring 2013... ... BS I went to the Mpls Auto show and the Truck was ******** and NO reason other ******, No qualifying or Proto Truck, My guess this NEW truck will NOT be available for Orders Until Late 2013 and Ram will just keep rolling to 2014. Hmmm the only 2014 truck in the whole show 2014 GM Sierra 1500.

Now I see how Ram is sticking it to all the American Dealers, You can great deals on the 2012 3500 now and My guess they will be giving them away late this year, Maybe as less $40K loaded.
