I was waiting for a new HD 3500, however, got tired of waiting for the rig to hit the production line. Ram debuting so early with so much hype I think really hurt potential sales. I ended up getting a 13 GMC 3500, love the truck so far. Maybe the Ram will hit the dealer lots before 2014. Really a shame if you ask me.

It's gone way past debacle now... it's an epic failure. You have potential buyers looking only at GM and Ford now for their 3500/4500/5500 vehicles...

Sold units sitting in storage in Mexico for what reason?? An engine cover as the recall notice might indicate?? I doubt it. Ram 2500's with the same engine cover continue to ship and be sold without the cover or retro'd with the 2010-2012 cover. Seems an easy enough solution yet the Ram 3500's sit in storage. Now the 2014 production gets pushed back...

I agree. I would have bought a 2013 if they had the "so called" 2500 capable of towing 17500 or so. NOPE... . Not a soul knows what I'm talking about..... Done.

This is not good for those who are waiting for there ordered 3500, but in my case it may be good, the old supply and demand, I am selling my perfect 2WD 3500 Max Tow in July after one more trip with the 5th wheel, love this truck, but were getting a Diesel Pusher, and leaving the 5th wheel

Good luck with the new RV. I am sure you know what you are doing. I do know several who have gone from a 5er to MH and went back.

It will be worth the wait the 385/3500 combo will have some >>>>>, But I jump on the wagon in 8/1/02 ordered, receive 11/7/02 1st production year of HPCR and that truck best I ever had and will hate to see it go when the 13 gets here.

KZ status, finally (released from plant, as of yesterday)! Estimated dates: load on rail car tomorrow, rail interchange 3 May, rail car arrive at destination 11 May, offload 12 May, arrive at dealer 16 May. Fingers crossed, here!

I spotted three 2013 3500 cab and chassis at a dealer Saturday maybe the 3500 pickups will start showing up this week.

My local dealer is starting to break ground on a brand new big truck service center and will handle 4500-5500 RAMs. I'm excited. I am waiting on a new RAM with 8 speed. It's coming. My 07. 5 with 79k on it will be hard to turn loose.

I'm glad to hear your local dealer is expanding, I have the opposite issue, the Dodge truck center where I bought my C&C was bought out by another dealer and your lucky to even see a C&C truck on the lot. I Hope all goes well for them, the trucks are the bread and butter for the American car companies.

I'm happy to report that my truck is on a rail car and getting closer to me by the day! (this is the original order--I'm not going to wait for the one with the CHMSL camera)

As of this morning, it was in Marysville, KS; it has an ETA in Rolla, CO on 12 May, and then to my dealer on 16 May. I went down to the dealer yesterday and did most of the final paperwork. My order went into the system on 8 Feb. Per the Insight tracking sheet:

14 Feb: Scheduled to Build (D1)

11 Apr: Built -Pending Inspection (I)

13 Apr: Built (J)

13 Apr: Ship to Storage (JS)

[then the hourly Bay Location Updates]

28 Apr: Plant Release (KZ)

30 Apr: Departed Facility

I'm starting to get excited again!

I think the paper work is a little premature... ... These are NEW complete trucks (Except interior/Body) I am going to make certain they are everything Ram claims them to Be, My build arrival date is 5-23-13. I will be keeping it for a day or two Before I do anything permanent, If 1 or 2 show up locally I will investigate.

I saw a picture of a '13 3500 Dually 4x2 pickup with a straight front axle like the cab/chassis, no IFS now. I wonder if the 3500 SRW is the same?

Nick

That sounds like the cab and chassis suspension. My 2wd cab and chassis has that frame and suspension with the differential casting in the solid front axle. I've had people try to argue with me that my truck is 4 x 4 because they see the pumpkin under the front end. The differential casting is actually empty, unused.

Where'd you see that picture, Nick?

Harvey,

On the Cummins Forum, I didn't see the pumpkin on this one, just the round straight axle with the new 3 link suspension.

The thread heading is under 2013+General Discussion... "Well, look at this" I was surprised because with all the '13 info I had not heard about this.

Nick

I certainly hope not. We 4x2 folks have never had to deal with the solid front axle issues; if they have done away with the IFS, that's a real marketing step backward. I wish some 3500 duallies would start hitting dealer lots so that we could end a lot of this speculation.

Rusty

Ordered mine 4/5 and it's on the RR headed north, supposed to be here in TN on the 27th but that is Memorial day so the 28th probably. Laramie 3500 SRW with most options but the moon roof.

'04 Laramie 3500 SRW 136,000, good service no complaints.

I drove a 2wd 3500 yesterday it did have the straight tube front end. Very nice ride even with 80 psi in the rears. The instantaneous mileage was very impressive- able to get over 20 at freeway cruise,17 avg for the 10 mile trip I took in some stop and go
