2016 Nissan vs Toyota: Cummins 2.8L ISF Powerplant

Promising news that the U.S. DOE is subsidizing the smaller diesel applications. Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma look to have Cummins ISF power by 2016. This is a great move on all fronts. Fuel milage alone will be a feather in the cap of the Feds, along with the tax revenue generating power of the diesel fuel.

i myself cannot wait to add a Cummins powered Tacoma to the Torque Stable.


Anyone else out there excited about the new diesel opportunities?

That article is 3 years old, Nissan and Toyota appear to be going to use the Cummins 5.0 v/8 in the 1/2 tons. There is interest in the Cummins 2.8 for some compact pickups.

The "Runner" will fit my needs just right
We have and had a few Nissans in the family, they serve/served us well.
