New 2017 - When Regen?

My 2017 Laramie 2500 Auto transs seems to me to be not functioning properly when you try to manually move it between gears. There is a very long hold/delay to get it to recognize a shift is being called for. Then once it is in 1st gear or any gear really, it has a lag when you try clicking it to another gear, if it even goes to another gear on the first click attempt. It seems so erratic that I don't know if there is a problem or it is just me??
Anyone else notice any type of problem like this?

Unless they changed something since the 2015. You're not actually selecting the gear to run in with the button. Your selecting the top gear. So if you select 4, all shifts including and below 4 will be normal as if there is no selector at all. But it will not go above 4 to shift into 5 or 6. It's not an actual paddle shifter.

You may realize that and I'm misinterpreting your issue but I wanted to put it out there because I've met others who thought it was supposed to be an auto/manual.

If that is not what you're talking about, I think some may have complained of the button not responding to presses sometimes. That included the number not changing on the screen.

The button seems very unresponsive. I understand how it should work. Just seems to have trouble working properly.

If the engine speed is too high and you want a down shift, it will wait until the engine speed is low enough to shift. If you a wanting an up shift, here again if the engine speed is not high enough for it to shift, it will wait.

I've noticed most of the buttons on my 2015 require a firm push.....and everything has a delay....even the horn (I'm not saying this delay has anything to do with shifting however).
