Admins move this to the right forum if needed. On a 2017 DRW 4x4 CC HO the lite goes in and out 20-30 times in less than two minutes. Other times it stays in all day. No rime or reason. Just posting this because I found the solution after about 2 months of driving me nuts. The rear wheel abs speed sensors were coated with brake dust about 1/8-1/4" thick. After cleaning and reinstalling it works great. This truck only has 54k miles and 3 years old. The brakes are in great shape and I use the engine brake about 75% of the time. You can save yourself about $300-400 and it takes about 30 minutes. Real easy to get to the sensors as they are on the rear axle housing flanges. The dealer wanted $150 to diag and most likely $250 to replace the two cables that only needed cleaning.

You know this is another example of the pros of washing your brake disks, hardware under the truck every tim you wash the truck. I have one of those cheap electric pressur washers that the wand has great reech. First 30 minutes of 1.5 hours washing the truck is washing disk,s calipers, and complete undercarriage of the truck. I do the engine compartment too, but careful not to spray anything too close.

Good info, thanks. Ron

Ron, I use 3500 psi washer to clean both front and rear under carriage before doing the topside of the truck sure amaze the mount of brake dust that washes off!:p:D

I’ve got the opposite issue. Everything works fine until it gets wet then I get the Traction control lamp and loose Cruise control. I just have to figure out which sensor is bad....or has bad plug connection.

I experienced this issue as well when raining while on long trips and it would kill cruise control. The rear sensors are easy to get to, just one bolt on each one (8 mm head) and do both within 30 minutes. Hot days it would not be an issue and rainy/humid days it would go on and off. Probably not a defective sensor, just clean it and reinstall. Being wet and build up of the brake dust causes the sensor to not be able to give a good signal. Try it and see......The front sensors are a lot more work to get access to.

Will do. Thanks for the tip.
