Cp4 cp3... Its still going to be the same story. Break down, take it to dealer, wait 5 days since they are
" covered up" , wait for them to try to wiggle out of it, argue for 3 days, wait three more days for parts and the mechanic to finish. Go pick it up take it home hitch up the trailer go another few months and do it all over again. Sure it tows like a mofo, costs as much as half a house and you look so cool pulling up in it. New trucks are just so out of hand with cost to purchase, cost to maintain and the reliability goes down and down and down. My last new dodge ruined me forever on any dodge product or buying a new truck period probably ever. My truck is my living. No truck no work no money... Im glad some people still get excited about... He jim did you see the injecton pump on that thing ?? You bet your ass i did fred... And can you believe its only $76,999.99 for the base model...... I know right.. Hella good deal.

comrade - bought a 2018 2500 g56. at 6k the clutch went out. got it back few days later, broke again. clutch out. then 30 days at dealer. im a contractor and same as you no truck no work ( or limited work ) thankfully i have a 2001 2500 that barley works anymore, and a 1995 subaru wagon ( that has never broke in 296,000 ) i will say ram did step up and make my january truck payment, which i find honorable. i find the parts availability / shortage somewhat concerning these days, but everyone will blame it on the china flu. merry christmas. cheers! :)

Anyone remember being at May Madness when we talked about the CP4? Seems to me the reason at the time they had to go that route was the CP3 could not develop enough pressure to meet emissions and new power levels???

Stan Gozzi had a show and tell.

ODP says "$76,999.99 for the base model"..... Show me a Tradesman with a $77k windows sticker and I'll have a beer for you.

2021 RAM 3500 Tradesman CC 4x4 with just the HO Cummins option is $56k.
2021 RAM 3500 Limited CC 4x4 with just the HO Cummins option is $80k

You can look cool pulling up in a Tradesman and still look badazz. Anything nice is going to cost you some coin. As for break downs and issues... Happens to everyone. Wifey's brand spanking new 2 week old 2021 Audi SQ5's windshield got a stress crack with only 140 on the odo. They are going to replace it for free but since it's a 2021 there is no glass in the states for it, Most likely mid February we were told.

Ok, parts shows a picture of a CP4 but the pump PN fits 2021 only, and does not have the note that the special calibration needs to be done to the ECM like the 2020 pump did.

I'm betting the drive gear ratio is different on the 2021 pump hence not compatible with the 19' and 20' trucks. Most likely driving the pump a little faster than the pump in a 2018 rig to get the higher rail pressure (if that's even true as to why they went to a CP4).

The drive gear is not part of the pump, so just changing the pump drive gear should not have any effect on the pump itself. It would make more sense that the pump internals are upgraded over the prior year pumps.

R. Taylor... Sarcasm... Its a thing. So do 56k. Plus ttl. Plus what ever interest you get dived by 72 months... And yeah your cost of owner ship for a truck is ???? Well just damn expensive.. Its just my .2 cents. Im sure they will sell plenty to plenty of people. Break downs do happen a lot. Im sure plenty of guys on here who make a living out of the back of the truck can feel my pain. You may not.

What I was thinking as well. Perhaps this upgraded pump will be retrofitted to the 19's and 20's that come in under warranty at some point, since they will be replacing all the lines as well. It would be interesting to see if they issue a TSB regarding this. I would imagine if this were to happen that the part # for the pump on the 19's and 20's would be updated to this new pump as well. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Yep picked up my 21HO last night and it has a CP3.

Beach Bomb, can you post the rest of that emission sticker? I’d like to read it. Also, how about more info/ pics of the truck? You can’t tease us like that!!
